The casino

The Riverboat is Glasgow's big, no-nonsense floor — a wide room with American roulette, blackjack, a poker room, electronic gaming and machines, one of the largest in Scotland and comfortable with a crowd. It is less design-led than Alea but every bit as roomy, and it keeps the late hours and poker events the regulars come for.

Where to stay

There are no rooms at the casino, but its riverside spot near the city centre keeps Glasgow's hotels close. The chains and smarter rooms around the Broomielaw, Central station and the Merchant City are a short walk or ride, so you can pick almost any level of hotel within a few minutes and still be near the door and the trains.

Dining & extras

Inside there is a restaurant and bar and live sport, enough to make an evening of it, and central Glasgow's restaurants, bars and nightlife are a short walk away. Between the on-site food and the city on the doorstep, the surrounding options are plentiful.

Location & value

The Riverboat sits on the Glasgow riverside within easy reach of the city centre, simple to get to on foot or by taxi from the stations. With Glasgow's reasonable prices and the room's scale, it is strong value for a big, straightforward night out — a natural pairing with Alea if you want to see both of the city's riverside rooms.
